Whale Sharks La Paz | A Top 3 Unforgettable Swim Experience
La Paz Whale Shark Adventure
Snorkeling with whale sharks in La Paz is a truly magical experience, offering a rare opportunity to connect with the ocean’s gentle giants in their natural habitat.
The whale shark, the largest fish in the ocean, is known for its calm demeanor and filter-feeding habits. Despite their massive size, whale sharks are gentle giants that feed primarily on plankton, small fish, and other microscopic organisms.
When you slip into the water, you’re greeted by the awe-inspiring sight of these enormous creatures gliding gracefully through the sea. These gentle giants often swim close to the surface, allowing you to observe them up close without disturbing their natural behavior.
Safety and respect for wildlife are paramount in these interactions. We ensure that encounters are conducted in a way that is both enjoyable for visitors and respectful to the animals.

Whale shark regulations are the same for all companies: limited time in the area and a maximum of five people in the water at once. Whether a boat has four or thirty guests, the rules do not change. Larger groups must rotate, which means more waiting and less actual time swimming with the whale sharks.
Encounters vary, sometimes the sharks stay in one spot, other times they move quickly. For this reason, small groups are strongly recommended, especially for less confident swimmers. Fewer people means more time in the water and a calmer, more personal experience.
Our tours may be priced differently because we prioritize small groups, quality equipment, a well-prepared boat, and professional Divemaster guides, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable experience.
